Havent worked with Rodeo in a while, decided to work with him in the arena a little bit. It was great! And a ton of fun! We free lunged, and he was incredible! I even got on bareback and bridleless, it was beyond fun! Love this horse! Here are some pics....
Since my last post of taking Rodeo to Camp Echo, my husband, BO, and I went out for a trail ride. My husband rode one of the BO's TWH, so I got to choose between riding Ace and Rodeo, of course I chose Rodeo. We weren't able to leave until around 7:30pm, but the weather was phenomenal! Perfect temperature, no bugs, quiet, peaceful, completely relaxing ride! We ended up riding until about 10pm or so, but it was a full moon, so didnt even seem that late until we got back on our trail in the woods. Really couldnt see a thing with how thick these woods are! Basically just had to follow the horse in front of you, hold on to your saddle, and above all, trust your horse! It was a blast that I look forward to doing again!
Havent ridden since then besides hopping on for a few minutes here and there, its been far too hot to walk outside let alone ride! Rodeo did however come in limping on his right front about 3 days ago, I wasnt able to find anything obvious, but I soaked his foot in some epson salts for a little while the past few days and he seems completely fine today.
If you have a minute, go to the Conformation tab on this site, and take a few minutes to look at how much Rodeo has changed over the years! Mind you his pics are over a 7yr time span so of course the change is going to be obvious, but wow has he grown up!
There is a program here that plans a week of activities and fun for disabled men and women. Rodeo and I, and the BO and his horse CJ were invited to go! There were about 60 campers there that wanted to ride, and only 2 horses, needless to say Rodeo was pretty tired at the end of the day! We got there around 5, let the horses relax a bit after the trailer ride, and then the rides started around 6 or so. We finished the last rider at 8, and one women who is blind loves to ride by herself every year. So she rode CJ, and I rode Rodeo, and she followed my voice and Id just direct here every now and then when she needed it. Truly amazing experience, and I am beyond thrilled and proud of how well Rodeo did!
Rodeo was awesome for our Saturday ride! He led the pack, rode in the middle, and rode in the back! My husband decided he wanted to go, so he rode Ace, and was literally a natural! Even galloped Ace and everything! I was very impressed! We did head back early as I knew my husband was going to be feeling it tomorrow! But Rodeo did super well!
