Here we are on an early Saturday night, Tropical Storm Ana is finally here after a few days of being told about it. So far all its brought is a good bit of wind, and now rain. Rodeo is on the section closest to the house, so I know he's close, plus its the most secure as he is starting to tear down the fencing everywhere else but this section. We'll see how this storm is, Hurrican season always makes me nervous, never know how bad things are going to get!
As warmer weather starts to come around again, Rodeo is beginning to really shed out his winter coat! My favorite time of year is when he is all shed out, he roans out more and more each year he sheds out, Im curious to see what happens to his coat the older he gets, but until then he has a lot of work ahead of him. We have been doing a good bit of trot work, walking, circles, serpentines, changing directions, and backing up among other things! He also gave my daughter, Kaleigh, her first "ride"! Obviously at only 9mo old, she really isnt "riding" but Im hoping shes ready and willing for it when shes old enough! She seems to really enjoy being up on him, she was on him bareback the other night, and just talking away to him, and Rodeo just stood there taking it all in! Hes amazing! Whenever we go for a ride up the road, there seems to be at least one person stopping us to talk to him, or asking if they can throw their child up for a short ride. He just takes it all in stride, couldnt ask for a better horse! :D
