Wanted to work on the join up a little more today. I threw the surcingle on, and then threw the breast collar on. Breast collar was a tad too big, so I decided to just leave it off for the time being. He seemed like he was playing with me today. He acted like he knew exactly what I wanted, just wanted to see how long it would take for me to give up. Well, I didnt, and we finally achieved the join up!! Still, we need to work on it, but we will give it a break for a little while, and come back to
Rodeo and I have had great success with the join up in the past. Sadly, there is no round pen at the new barn, so we just have to make due with the arena. Today we worked on the join up. I put the surcingle on him, and turned him out in the arena for the first time. He acted like the surcingle was restricting his movement at first, but after a few strides, he cantered off just fine. Took us quite a while to achieve the join up today, but when we got it, it was very rewarding! But something w
Rodeo was full of it today. Didnt help any that I dont know the barn's schedule, and ended up going out right at they were turning out horses. I threw the surcingle on to see how he would do, and he didnt seem to care too much. Talked to some people from the barn, and they are in love with his sweet puppy dog personality. They kept telling me how well behaved he is, lol...Ill believe it when I see it!!!
Went out to check on Rodeo after his long 18hr trip. He walked right off the trailer this morning without a problem. He seemed to know who I was instantly, and took mints from me happily! I walked, and then trotted him around a bit in the arena just so he could stretch his legs out a bit. He seemed to relax a bit when I put him in his stall. He drank quite a bit, and was happy to
Rodeo was picked up at 12:30 earlier today. I talked to the transporter and he loaded onto the trailer with no problems! What a relief it was to hear that, he has been behaving very badly for the past few weeks. Rodeo was supposed to arrive before midnight, but the transporter ran into some problems, post poning his arrival until 5am the next morning. As tired as I am, I am just relieved that he is here, and SAFE!
